Connecticut Credit Card Debt Attorney Discusses the Right to Prove Your Debt

Connecticut Credit Card Debt AttorneyI am often asked as an experienced Connecticut Credit Card Debt Attorney, how someone can be shown proof of a debt they owe by a debt collector.  One of the most important consumer rights enshrined in the Federal Debt Practices Act is the right to ask a debt collector to prove, or offer evidence that you actually owe the debt. This is put in the original contact letter from a debt collector that informs you of your right to validate the debt. It is critical that you respond within 30 days of receipt of that letter to exercise your right to request validation of the debt.

Are you being contacted about a debt you do not think you owe?  Contact experienced Connecticut Credit Card Debt Attorney Eric Foster to help you.

This informational blog post was brought to you by Attorney Eric L. Foster, an experienced Connecticut Credit Card Debt Attorney.
