Windham County Business Lawyer Discusses a C Corporation vs. an S Corporation
Being a Windham County Business Lawyer I often get asked the differences between a C Corporation and an S Corporation. A C Corporation is treated with the standard tax treatment by the IRS of a corporation. With this form the company’s earnings are taxed and then distributed but taxes again at the shareholder level. Also as a Windham County Business Attorney I let clients know that with a C Corp, the shares are transferable, with activities of the business are open-ended and you can have unlimited shareholders if you wanted. With an S Corporation the business, and the ownership of the shares are limited.
