Hartford Debt Relief Lawyer Explains the Time Length of Negative Items on Your Credit Report

When clients come to me as a Hartford Debt Relief Lawyer and ask about how long negative items stay on their credit report.  Unfavorable items that show up on your credit report can clearly impact your credit score.  Negative items can remain on your credit report for seven years from the last date you made a payment on a defaulted credit card or other loan.  It is also 7 years from the date a judgement was later obtained on the defaulted loan.  I advise clients as a Hartford Debt Relief Lawyer that if that loan is written, it can remain on your credit report for seven years from the date the loan was written off.  Even longer, a Bankruptcy stays on your credit report for 10 years.
